Apstrakt:
The state of the material to the current state in our machine production was recorded and discussed. The frequency of certain material selection criteria was quantified. The recorded situation showed that there is a lack of systematicity in the selection process, and that the criteria for the selection of materials are mostly of a qualitative, i.e. subjective, nature. In order to improve the material selection process, it is necessary to increase the share of qualitative criteria, the frequency of which is now less than 12%.
